Allure

After 12 years of marriage and two kids, I had become furniture. Not in a dramatic way — he didn't ignore me or mistreat me. He just… stopped seeing me. I'd come downstairs in a new dress and he'd say "ready?" without looking up. I tried lingerie once. He fell asleep on the couch watching Sports Center. I cried in the bathroom.
